ගොඩක් අය හිතාගෙන ඉන්නේ ෆේස්බුක් එකේ ෆේක් එකවුන්ට් එකක් හදාගෙන, වෙන කාගේ හරි නමකින් හරි පිංතූරෙකින් හරි ඇවිත් අනුන්ට අසභ්ය විදිහට බනින්න, අපහාස කරන්න පටන් ගත්තාම කවුද හොයාගන්නේ කියලා කවුරුත් දන්නේ නැහැ කියලා. උන් හිතන්නේ උන් හෙනම මාරයෝ, කවදාවත් මාට්ටු වෙන්නේ නැහැ කියලා.
ඇත්තටම ඒක ලොකු මුළාවක්!
අද වෙනකොට තාක්ෂණය කොච්චර දියුණුයිද කියනවා නම්, අර ව්යාජ ගිණුම් පිටුපස ඉඳන් මඩ ගහන, බනින උන්ව අල්ලන එක පොලිසියට ලේසි වැඩක්. ඔය කවුරු ෆේක් ප්රොෆයිල් හැදුවත්, අන්තර්ජාලයට සම්බන්ධ වෙනකොට හැම කෙනෙක්ටම තමන්ගේම කියලා ඩිජිටල් සලකුණක් (IP Address එකක්) ඉතිරි වෙනවා. ලංකාවේ පොලිසියේ පරිගණක අපරාධ විමර්ශන අංශය (Cyber Crime Division) සහ ශ්රී ලංකා CERT ආයතනය දැන් මේ වගේ දේවල් අල්ලන්න පට්ට දක්ෂයි. උන්ට ෆේස්බුක් සමාගම (Meta) එක්ක කෙලින්ම සම්බන්ධ වෙලා, අර ෆේක් එකවුන්ට් එක හැදුවේ කවුද, පාවිච්චි කළේ මොන ෆෝන් එකෙන්ද, සිම් එක කවුරුන්ද කියලා අදාල ඔක්කොම විස්තර ලේසියෙන්ම එළියට අදින්න පුළුවන්.
ලංකාවේ නීතිය හැදිලා තියෙන්නේ ඔය ෆේක් කථා වලට රැවටෙන්න නෙවෙයි.
පරිගණක අපරාධ පනත (Computer Crimes Act) යටතේ මේ වගේ වැඩ කරන අයට ලක්ෂ ගණනින් දඩ කන්න පුළුවන් වගේම, හිරේ යන්නත් වෙනවා.
ඊට දණ්ඩ නීති සංග්රහය යටතේ අපහාස කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපරාධ නඩු දාන්නත් පුළුවන්.
දැන් තියෙන මාර්ගගත ආරක්ෂණ පනත (Online Safety Act) වගේ නීතිත් එක්ක අන්තර්ජාලයේ අනුන්ට හිරිහැර කරන, බොරු පතුරුවන උන්ට නීතියෙන් ගැලවීමක් නැහැ.
ඔයාට කවුරුහරි මේ වගේ ෆේක් ප්රොෆයිල් එකකින් අපහාස කරනවා නම් කවදාවත් බිය වෙන්න එපා. මේ දේවල් ටික කරන්න :
අර අපහාස කරන පෝස්ට් එකේ හෝ කමෙන්ට් එකේ පැහැදිලි ස්ක්රීන් ෂොට් (Screenshots) ටිකක් අරන් තියාගන්න (පේජ් එකේ ලින්ක් එකත් එක්කම).
ඊට පස්සේ ඒ ෆේක් ප්රොෆයිල් එක ෆේස්බුක් එකට ගිහින් Report කරන්න.
ළඟම තියෙන පොලිසියට ගිහින්, නැත්නම් කෙලින්ම කොළඹ පොලිස් මූලස්ථානයේ පරිගණක අපරාධ අංශයට පැමිණිල්ලක් දාන්න.
ෆේක් එකවුන්ට් පස්සේ හැංගිලා වීරයෝ වගේ අනුන්ට මඩ ගහන උන් අද හෙටම මාට්ටු වෙනවා නියතයි. නීතිය කියන්නේ කාටවත් නෑදෑයෙක් නෙවෙයි. එනිසා ඔය වගේ මෝඩ වැඩ කරන අයට වැඩි කාලයක් අච්චුවෙන් බේරිලා ඉන්න ලැබෙන්නේ නැහැ.

Many people think that by creating a fake Facebook account using someone else’s name or picture to abuse and defame others, no one will ever find out. They think they are clever and will never get caught.
Actually, that is a huge misconception!
Technology is so advanced today that catching the cowards hiding behind fake accounts to spread hate is an easy task for the police. No matter who creates a fake profile, every time they connect to the internet, they leave a unique digital footprint (an IP Address). The Sri Lanka Police Computer Crime Division and Sri Lanka CERT are extremely skilled at tracking these down. They can directly coordinate with Meta (Facebook) to easily pull out all details regarding who actually created that fake account, what phone was used, and whose SIM card it belongs to.
The law in Sri Lanka is not designed to be fooled by these fake tricks.
Under the Computer Crimes Act, those engaging in such acts can face fines amounting to hundreds of thousands of rupees as well as imprisonment.
Furthermore, criminal cases for defamation can be filed under the Penal Code.
With laws like the Online Safety Act, there is no escape for those who harass others and spread lies on the internet.
If someone is defaming you using a fake profile like this, never be afraid. Just do these things:
Take clear screenshots of the insulting post or comment along with the link to the profile or page.
Go to Facebook and Report that fake profile.
Go to your nearest police station, or file a complaint directly with the Computer Crime Division at the Police Headquarters in Colombo.
People who hide behind fake accounts and act like heroes while slinging mud at others are bound to get caught sooner rather than later. The law doesn’t play favorites. Therefore, those who do such foolish things won’t be able to escape justice for long.
