මොරටුවේ මහානර්ඝ ස්වභාවික සම්පතක් වූ විල්ලෝරාවත්තේ "කපුටු දූව" අනවසර පාලමෙන් වැනසෙන අපේ බොල්ගොඩ ගඟ රැක ගනිමු ! ( වීඩියෝ සහිතයි ) -

“ස්වභාවධර්මය අපට දයානුකම්පාවෙන් දායාද කළ අසමසම වස්තූන් මිනිස් තණ්හාවට හා නොසැලකිල්ලට බිලිවීම යනු අනාගත පරපුරට කරන ලද මහා අපරාධයකි. මොරටුවේ කපුටු දූව ආසන්න ගඟ අද මුහුණ දී සිටින්නේ එවැනි බරපතළ විනාශයකටය.”

මොරටුව, විල්ලෝරාවත්තේ බොල්ගොඩ කලපුවේ (ගඟෙහි) පිහිටා ඇති කපුටු දූව (කදුරු දූව / මදුරු දූව) නමින් හැඳින්වෙන මනරම් දූපත සහ ඒ අවට පරිසරය මේ වන විට අතිශය බරපතළ ලෙස පරිසර දූෂණයට හා විනාශයට ලක්වෙමින් පවතී. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඉඩම් නීතියට අනුව ඕනෑම දූපතක් යනු රජය සතු මහජන දේපළක් වුවද, අද වන විට මෙම නීති රීති තුට්ටුවකටවත් මායිම් නොකරමින් මහා දූෂණයකට ලක්වීම අතිශය කණගාටුදායකය.

සිදු වෙමින් පවතින බරපතළ විනාශය:

නීති විරෝධී ඉදිකිරීම්: දූවෙහි ඇති නිවාස කිහිපයකට පහසුවෙන් ළඟාවීම සඳහා ලයිට් කණු සහ කොන්ක්‍රීට් ලෑලි යොදා නීති විරෝධී පාලමක් තැනීම.
ජල ප්‍රවාහයට බාධා: මෙම අවරීතිමත් ඉදිකිරීම් නිසා ගඟෙහි ජලය ගලායාම හා රොන්මඩ ඉවත් වීම වැළකී ගොස්, කලපුව ක්‍රමයෙන් මඩ ගොහොරුවක් හා ගොඩබිමක් බවට පත්වීම.
භූගෝලීය අනන්‍යතාවය නැතිවීම: මේ ආකාරයෙන් අඛණ්ඩව සිදුවන විනාශය හමුවේ මෙම දූපත තව නොබෝ කලකින් ස්වාභාවික දූපතක් ලෙස පවතින්නක් නොව, ගොඩබිමක කොටසක් (විල්ලෝරාවත්තේ දිගුවක්) බවට පත්වීමේ දැඩි අවදානමක් ඇත.

බලධාරීන්ගේ සහ වගකිවයුතු ආයතනවල නිහඬතාවය ඇයි?

මෙම ස්වභාවික පරිසර පද්ධතිය සහ රජය සතු දේපළ ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීමේ සෘජු වගකීම ඇත්තේ මොරටුව ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයටයි. එසේ තිබියදී, මේ වන විටත් මෙම විනාශය දෑස් පනාපිට සිදුවෙද්දී බලධාරීන් ඇස්කන් පියාගෙන සිටින්නේ මන්දැයි අප ප්‍රශ්න කළ යුතුය.

ගඟ හරස් කරමින් මෙලෙස නීති විරෝධී ලෙස පාලමක් තැනීමට සහ දූපත ගොඩ කිරීමට අවසර දුන් පුද්ගලයෝ කවුරුන්ද?
ඊට අනුබල දුන් නිලධාරීන් කවුද? මේ පිළිබඳව වහාම පරීක්ෂණයක් පවත්වා නොපමාව නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ යුතුය.

මොරටුව මහ නගර සභාව: මෙය මොරටුව සතු මහා වස්තුවක් බැවින්, එය විනාශ කරන පුද්ගලයන්ට එරෙහිව නීතිමය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගැනීමට මොරටුව නගර සභාවට මෙන්ම නගරවාසීන්ටද අයිතියක් හා වගකීමක් ඇත. මෙහි සිටිනා මහජන නියෝජිතයෝ කොහිදැයි මෙම විනාශයට එරෙහි වන්නෝ විමසති.
මොරටුව පොලිසිය: පරිසරය ආරක්ෂා කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් නඩු පවරමින්, නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ යුතු පොලිසිය මෙවැනි බරපතළ පාරිසරික අපරාධ හමුවේ මෙසේ නිදි ගැට තුල වන්නේ මන්ද ?

බලධාරීන්ගේ සහ පරිසර හිතකාමීන්ගේ අවධානය පිණිසයි!

Let Us Save Our Bolgoda River from Being Destroyed by Unauthorized Bridges at “Kaputu Doowa” in Willorawatta, Moratuwa – A Priceless Natural Treasure! (Video Included)

“Sacrificing the incomparable treasures gifted to us by nature to human greed and negligence is an unforgivable crime against future generations. The river near Kaputu Doowa in Moratuwa is facing such a severe destruction today.”

The beautiful island known as Kaputu Doowa (Kaduru Doowa / Madraru Doowa), located in the Bolgoda Lagoon (River) in Willorawatta, Moratuwa, and its surrounding environment are currently facing severe environmental pollution and destruction. According to the land laws of Sri Lanka, any island is government-owned public property; however, it is deeply regrettable that these laws are being utterly ignored, leading to massive degradation.

The Severe Destruction Taking Place:

Illegal Constructions: Constructing illegal bridges using light poles and concrete slabs to easily access a few houses located on the island.
Obstruction to Water Flow: Due to these irregular constructions, the flow of water and the clearance of silt in the river are hindered, causing the lagoon to gradually turn into a mudflat and mainland.
Loss of Geographical Identity: With continuous destruction of this nature, there is a high risk that this natural island will soon cease to be an island and become a part of the mainland (an extension of Willorawatta).

Why the Silence of Authorities and Responsible Institutions?

The direct responsibility for protecting this natural ecosystem and government property lies with the Moratuwa Divisional Secretariat. Despite this, when this destruction is taking place right before our eyes, we must question why the authorities are turning a blind eye.

Who are the individuals that permitted the illegal construction of bridges across the river and the encroachment of the island?
Who are the officials who supported this? An immediate investigation must be conducted regarding this, and the law must be enforced without delay.

Institutions That Cannot Evade Responsibility:

Moratuwa Municipal Council: As this is a great asset belonging to Moratuwa, the Moratuwa Municipal Council and the citizens have the right and responsibility to take legal action against those destroying it. Those opposing this destruction are asking: Where are the public representatives here?
Moratuwa Police: Why is the police, whose duty is to enforce the law and file lawsuits to protect the environment, turning a blind eye to such serious environmental crimes?

For the Attention of Authorities and Environmentalists!

We can no longer delay in saving this precious, natural, unvanquished island and the Bolgoda Lagoon in Moratuwa, which must be preserved for our future generations. We strongly remind the authorities to immediately intervene, remove the illegal constructions, and take necessary steps to rescue the lagoon and the island!
